1996 - The designer Anky Groothof
Anky was a mother of six children and married to actor/theater producer Frank Groothof. She was a romantic and perfectionist. Always seeking harmony: in relationships, form, colour, light and mood. Anky enjoyed working with textiles since her childhood and especially with clothing. Always fascinated by the fact that by taking something as simple as a piece of fabric and making it to an item of clothing, you can create a whole new world, an extension of your imagination. Besides clothing, she has also designed costumes for theater production, but her true passion leis in making clothing collections for children. This is what she has been doing for Jottum since 1996.
1999 – The Jottum headquarters were moved to Almaar but the Design Department remained in Edam.
2002 – The first photoshoot outside of Netherlands took place in Spain
2007 After almost 10 years in Alkmaar the Jottum headquarters were moved to Badhoevedorp, close to Amsterdam
2016 Our designer is Hoi Man Cheung.
Hoi Man graduated from her degree in Fashion Design at the age of 17 and later on continued her studies in Fashion and Textile at the Royal Academy of Art in Hague. She began her career path in Womenswear but she always had strong creative feelings towards children’s wear and design. However, becoming part of the Jottum brand is how this interest grew into deep love for the children’s fashion. According to her what makes each Jottum design so unique is the combination between her vision for womenswear and the details in children’s wear. Hoi says: “I have much respect for the legacy that the founder of Jottum has left behind and every season I take a look back at her strong aesthetic vision in our archive and try to implement it in the modern day”.
2018 – we launched our web shop delivering worldwide
